The proprietor of Socrates College, Dr. Abdulrahman Adetunji has advised schools and educators operating in kwara state to prioritize the provision of entrepreneurial skills acquisition into their school curriculum as a means of tackling youth unemployment and restiveness in today’s Nigeria. In an address at the “1st Cultural Exhibition and Trade Fair” hosted by Socrates College on the 9th of December, 2023, the proprietor emphasized the importance of blending theoretical knowledge with practical skills in education. He urged parents to prioritize both academic certifications and hands-on skills, expressing gratitude to the teachers for their unwavering support. In a dynamic showcase of talent and entrepreneurship, the event featured innovative products crafted by our students, including semovita, liquid soaps, ice cream, wigs, and shoe palms, peanuts and other various items available for purchase by parents, staff and fellow students.Alh. Mohammed Abdulqadri, a former NTA director and distinguished speaker, delivered an inspiring address encouraging students not to relent in their pursuits. He commended the teachers and school management for their hard work and dedication. The highlight of the event was the lively buying and selling interactions between students and parents, the joyous dancing, and the exhibited items experiencing high demand, selling out completely.
